Joanie Curry here.  I have been asked by a neighbor to help place his horse.  Actually it is his wifes horse who is currently in the hospital and they have given her no more than two weeks before she will pass away.

The problem is this horse is an 18 year old Cremello quarter horse stallion.  He is also a crytochrid.  He is broke to ride but has not been ridden in approximately 6 years as they owners are in their 70′s he used to be ridden by an 18 year old neighbor but then they moved here.

He is in good weight, may need a Coggins as I don’t believe he has had one in approx. 2 years but he has never left the property.  He is pretty well mannered on the ground.  He did have an injury about 4 years ago when he moved here (his leg slipped a bit under the trailer)  but he is sound.  He is about 15H high.

If you have any suggestions let me know please, I know this is going to be a difficult horse to place but they are nice people and the only reason the husband has not tried to move him before was because his wife did not want to let him go.  I am trying to help as the husband is, quite honestly, overwhelmed with the inevitable passing of the wife.

I have fed him and handled him with the farrier and no problems.  He is a fairly easy keeper.  I have never had him attempt to bite or kick.  I am going to also put this out to several folks I know as well as the SPCA data base.  My husband is willing to haul him to a new home up to an hour away from our house for no charge.

Please post this to your website.This is Babygirl,she freaks out when it thuderstorms & Friday 8/13/10 on Outing Club Road she jumped in a work truck that had a tarp in it ,got under the tarp so the worker did not see her,he got in the truck and headed to Aiken on the 118 bypass,as he got just past the USCA Convocation Center she was scratching on the truck and trying to crawl into the passeger side of the truck and the driver jerked the wheel because it surprised him,she fell off.Cars swerved and to my knowledge she wasn’t hit by a car….there is no evidence of blood,she ran into the woods close to Brian Luvitt’s used cars.I have been searching for her since,everyday.Please if you have any knowledge of her whereabouts let me know.All the info is on the poster attached.

Lost our parrot today, 8/17/10, he must have slipped out the door unnoticed while we were moving furniture this morning. His name is Disco, he has a large vocabulary and has a band with 9/06, and is microchipped. He is friendly and will step up on command. He is a Timneh African Grey and has a dark red tail.

We are heartbroken and have looked everywhere, and will continue to do so. If you see Disco anywhere, please contact me at 804-837-4888. He was lost on Pine Acres Rd in Windsor.

Disco has just been found, he was on a fence behind a barn on our property. Seems fine, just hungry and thirsty. Thanks for posting about him. We are very happy he is home!

When we got home from work last night Fri 6th August 10A, Miles was not in the fence and our gate was slightly ajar.  We went to the Aiken County Animal Shelter, Aiken SPCA, and Veterinary Services (our vet) this morning, have wandered the neighborhood several times.

- yellow lab /retriever 8/2/10.. at Bronze Body Tanning Salon on the corner of Doughtry Rd and Silver Bluff Rd.. Owner of Bronze Body has him inside the shop as of now to keep him off busy road.. SPCA is picking up later today..(we are thinking the dog may have been previously found at this same location i…n the past and reunited,if so its “Rusty” ) very smart, well kept dog and we can tell where the collar has been but must have came off.
